Hello dear friends of the community of Steemit, this time I want to show you the tourist route "Me Gusta Caracas" that has its beginning in the park Ezequiel Zamora, also known as Paseo Guzman Blanco - Paseo Independencia - El Calvario Park.

This is a public space of Caracas, Venezuela located in the central hull of that city west of the El Silencio.

Let's get acquainted with this park

Its construction was ordered by President Antonio Guzman Blanco to French landscapers to create a botanical garden and walk on the hill of El Calvario, the work was inaugurated in 1883 with the name Paseo Guzmán Blanco. The gardens on large terraces were made by Luciano Urdaneta and Eleazar Urdaneta, the walk also had a chapel and a statue of Guzmán Blanco, popularly called "El Manganzón", which was demolished after he left power.

In 1884 the government Joaquín Crespo assumes, who is determined to make certain extensions to the walk, in addition to the name change to Paseo Independencia. In that same year another temple was included, the Chapel of Our Lady of Lourdes, 8 of gothic architectural style. Then other Venezuelan presidents were interested in the expansion of the park, in 1895 the Arch of the Federation was inaugurated in commemoration of the Federal War. In 1898, the monument to Christopher Columbus was built, which in addition to the statue also included stairs called Col. Graderías, now known as the stairs of El Calvario.

First stop: Plaza El Parnaso!

The Plaza El Parnaso, known for its classical gardens in the French style, has its origins in the reforms carried out at the end of the 19th century.

To the center was the elaborate bust of bronze by Pedro Elías Gutiérrez, author of the music of the soul llanera, our second national anthem.

Second stop: Chapel NUESTRA MRS. DE LOURDES

This emblematic Neo-Gothic style building is the work of the architect Juan Hurtado Manrique, who at the end of the 19th century built the chapel as a testimony of the religious past of this space, since the colonial era was visited in procession by the parishioners of Caracas.

Third stop: Plaza La Estrella

This square known as the star, owes its name to the design of the walks.

Children's games are for the enjoyment of our children; parents and companions can enjoy this space and its pleasant climate.

In the highest point of the park 960 (msnm) you will observe the statue of our liberator Simón Bolívar placed in this place from 1911.

Fourth stop: Arc of the Federation

The Arch of the Federation was inaugurated by President Joaquín Crespo on October 28, 18951 in commemoration of the Venezuelan Federal War between 1859 and 1863. The architect Juan Hurtado Manrique was in charge of designing the Arch of the Federation next to Alejandro Chataing . Its last restoration was carried out in 2010, as part of the improvements to El Calvario Park.
