When it comes to red carpets, Florence Welch never disappoints. The Grammy Awards on Monday night were no exception. Ethereal in a pink custom Gucci gown, the Florence + The Machine songstress opted for natural makeup and loose locks to step up her already dreamy bohemian vibe.
Mane man Ryan Richman, who has worked with the newly named Gucci timepieces and jewelry brand ambassador in the past, dishes on how to create the undone look.
After combing frizz-reducing KMS California Tame Frizz Taming Creme through the hair, Richman blow-dried it (first, with a flat boar-bristle brush for smoothness, then a round one, working his way through hair in one-inch sections). Working a Varis Creative Energy 1-inch Smoother flat iron through inch-thick sections of her hair (starting at the base), Richman created Welch’s waves.
“The key to a natural wave is alternating directions while waving the hair. If you’re curling the hair with a wand or iron curl one section away from the face and then one towards the face, do this throughout the entire head to have a less uniform look,” says Richman. “Using a product like KMS California Hair Play Messing Creme on your hands while you break apart the wave will help add to the undone natural texture.” And there you have it.
