Henry County’s most famous current resident is selling one of his homes, but isn’t leaving the county.

About two weeks ago, Cannon Realty Group of Henry County began listing county music superstar Hank Williams Jr’s expansive home on Bull Durham Road in the Springville area as being for sale.

Trisha Cannon, owner of Cannon Realty Group, said she had been in talks with Williams’ representatives for several months about a possible sale.

She said Williams is going to stay in Henry County. He will be moving to a cabin and 577-acre farm he owns in the lake area.

That was actually the first home he had in Henry County when he moved here four decades ago.

The home on Bull Durham Road has been his primary residence for the last several years.

The home, which sits on 33.7 acres, was custom-built for Williams. There is an abundance of wildlife on the property and a 2-acre duck impoundment.

The home has five bedrooms, six bathrooms and two half-bathrooms.

It features hardwood cherry-finished maple floors, cherry cabinets, oak doors, a 200-year-old reclaimed Douglas Fir, a 6,000-square-foot exercise facility with bath, saltwater pool with automatic pool cover, pool house with bath, media room, two master suites, a 14-by-14 gun vault, a workshop, a screened-in porch, a 65-kilowatt Generac generator that covers the entire home and two two-car garages.

The asking price is listed at $3.275 million.

Cannon said interested prospective buyers can call 731-336-1485 for more information.

Her company has been in business for only about 19 months.

“I’m thankful to have the opportunity to be able to sell the property,” she said.

Williams has just released a new album, “Rich White Honky Blues.”
