She's an Easy Lover: Lily Collins makes her romcom debut in hilariously saucy trailer for coming-of-age movie Love Rosie

She’s arguably a star in her own right – although people often refer to her as Phil Collins’ daughter.

But Lily Collins’ latest role is sure to cement her own star in Hollywood as she takes the modern-day romcom and gives it a naughty, hilarious twist.

The pretty brunette, 25, stars in Love Rosie – set to be released in the autumn – a tale about two teenage friends who decide to dip their toes in the pool of intimacy with hilarious consequences.

Showing off her naturally pretty looks, with her quintessentially British alabaster skin, Lily plays the knowledgeable and yet unlucky-in-love Rosie who falls for her best friend Alex – played by the undeniably hunky Sam Claflin.

But the path to true love is never easy and Rosie is caught in up in another relationship with preppy schoolmate Greg - played by Christian Cooke.

Meanwhile Alex loses his virginity to leggy blonde Bethany, played by Suki Waterhouse.

It’s a teenage love affair so it’s to be expected that there’s a fair amount of nudity involved – but not a sordid Skins type of sex, but a more realistic, fumbling love-making.

Warning: Scenes of nudity and sexual references throughout

The trailer shows Rosie and Greg partake in the first intimate throws of love, and insinuates it wasn’t a long, drawn-out affair.

But it’s not without drama as Rosie is then seen furiously explaining to her friend on the phone: ‘The condom came off inside my vagina and at present I’m unable to locate it.’

Alex and Rosie are then separated when his family move away from Dublin to live in America - leaving their ever-growing feelings for one another in the balance.

A question mark hangs over their friendship, and possible relationship; can they make a transatlantic liaison work?

It would seem the movie is almost a modern-day take on Bridget Jones – albeit with a teenage outlook on life – a whopping 14 years after the unlucky-in-love movie was first released.

Shot over two months in the Irish capital, the movie also stars British hipsters Jaime Winstone, Tamsin Egerton and Suki Waterhouse.

Speaking to MailOnline, Lily said: ‘Tamsin, Jaime and Suki are amazing – we got on so well.

‘The film is an old-school romantic comedy, like Love Actually; it’s one of those movies you want to watch again and again. We’d all go out every night when we had finished shooting, and then have to get up early the next morning to start all over again. Often it would correspond with a scene about staying out late, so it was like method acting!

But she wasn’t completely satisfied with every element of filming the movie - there was one local treat she didn’t enjoy.

She added: ‘The only thing I didn’t like was Guinness. We went to watch soccer – sorry, football – in a bar and after one sip I knew it wasn’t for me. Other than that, I felt like one of the Brits.’
