César Pelli (1926-2019) was commissioned to draw up the Master Plan for the regeneration of the Abandoibarra area, a key factor in developing Bilbao for the 21st century. As the icing on the cake, he also designed the Iberdrola Tower, thereby concluding the previously mentioned regeneration project. His most famous project is the Petronas Twin Towers in Kuala Lumpur, the tallest buildings in the world from 1998 to 2003.
